Asher Milgate is an Australian artist working across analogue photography, material intervention, and reconstructed photographic objects. Using medium format and 35mm black and white film, his practice explores landscape, memory, and perception through torn and sewn darkroom prints that shift photography from image toward object. Shaped by a regional upbringing and generational relationships with First Nations communities, his work considers landscape as a psychologically and historically loaded space shaped by memory, influence, and lived experience.
