From the Aiguille du Midi (3,842m), reached by cable car from the Chamonix valley, the platform decks reveal the full sweep of the Mont Blanc massif. Classic alpine landscape with beautiful pics stretching the horizon. Looking toward Italy, mountaineers can be seen picking their way along a razor-thin ridgeline — a 2,000-metre drop falling away to Chamonix far below. As a climber myself, capturing this moment on film felt like a rare privilege.
